Step 1: Registering with Medacs and Obtaining a Position

Before you can obtain a position, you will need to register with us. We will provide you with the relevant documentation, followed by a letter of appointment from the facility. At this point you will be given a member password and login to our tracking website??

Step 2: Medical Registration

Registration procedures differ depending on your experience and qualifications and whether you have been or are applying as a specialist, general practitioner or non-specialist. We will guide you through this process and provide you with the relevant information and application forms so you can gain registration to work in Australia.

Step 3: Sponsorship & Visa Application

Medacs Australia will liaise with the facility in applying for your sponsorship/nomination from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). Prior to this, we will ask you for the details of any additional applicants (immediate family members) that you wish to include on your visa, as their details will also be included in your sponsorship.

Once both your registration and sponsorship applications are underway, you will be able to start the process of applying for your Australian visa. Medacs Australia will provide you with the relevant information and ensure you are assisted throughout this process.
You should allow yourself plenty of time to obtain a visa as it can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks for formalities to be completed. Further information can be obtained directly from the DIAC website www.immi.gov.au.
